Heart of Texas (Color)
The “Heart of Texas” was originally commissioned by a client, but the process of creating it brought immense pride and joy. As a transplant into Austin, TX, I have loved the city since before I even moved here. To add a touch of personalization, a UT Longhorn symbol was added to the image. What makes this piece unique is that if you shift the orientation of the heart counterclockwise you will actually find that the heart can fit in Texas with the superior vena cava and inferior vena cava (blue) feeding into central Texas.
The original “Heart of Texas” is 11” x 14” and was made over one day and 9 hours in December 2018 when I was a third-year Internal Medicine resident.
